At the beginning of 2008 an open tender for the best architectural conception for the development of the territory near the National Library was held by order of the President of the Republic of Belarus. In the middle of may the tender commision summed up the results. «Zomex Overseas Limited» (Great Britain), one of the members of the world building holding company WorldWide Building group, which introduced its architectural conception with working title "Minsk Lighthouse", became the winner of the tender. 

The project's realization strikes our imagination with its impertinence, pretentiousness and scope of implementation, making it unique and uncommon. There are only 3 similar projects in the whole world - Dubai, Makao (China) and Las Vegas (USA). But now in Minsk, in the capital of Belarus, its own touristic Mecca will appear and the fire of "Minsk Lighthouse" will be lighted, making our city even more attractive and inviting visitors from all parts of the world.      

35-storeyed tower with the broach will carry the cresset, inviting into this urbanistic center for relax, entertainment, shopping and (why not?) just life - quiet, organized, convenient and comfortable. On this island of abundance everything is provided for - schools, kindergartens, shops - now the dwellers of the "island" won't have to drive all over the city to arrange everyday needs, take children back from school. All this will be possible just coming up with a lift from the underground parking and walking along a path among green plants (even during the cold season, because green gardens and terraces will be indoor), having a stop in one of the various numerous cafés for a cup of coffee, and then, while children are playing on a playground, you can buy everything you need in the shops, situated on the "island".   

Do you like gondolas? Certainly most of us would like to ride along the canal, enjoying the scenery and splashes of water, but not each of us has enough time (and may be wish) to go to Venice. Modern architectural compositions, laconic and majestic, as opposed to pathos of the Baroque, together with the quietness and romanticism of comfortable gondolas, floating along the indoor canals all the year round - won't leave indifferent anyone.   

Shops. What modern center can do without them? On our "island of abundance" malls will be created, where you will find goods of famous brends. Now Minsk, on a par with Milan, Paris, London and other cities of the world, will be able to attract men and women of fashion for shopping and entertainment.  

 There will be a place for entertainments for parents with their kids - on the "island" the biggest aqua park of Europe (40 000 m2) will be created, that will let to prolong summer feelings even during cold periods of the year. The developed infrastructure of entertainments and water amusements, such as water slides, sprinklers, pools with diving board, fountains, "lazy river" and others, give you a possibility to choose whether play or just relax in a comfortable chaise longue with a delicious cocktail in your hand, watching frisking children.  

Zones for pedestrians, bikeways are thought over.Parks, areas for relax, fountains, which will become skating-rinks during cold periods, are projected according to the recent achievements of landscape design.

Indeed the project "Minsk Lighthouse" on the one hand is so urban and ultra-modern, on the other hand - comfortable and cozy for the person, can be called the island of abundance. Here everyone can find what his heart desires: infrastructure for the quiet and comfortable life; aqua park, sport complexes and cycle tracks for active pastime; shine, variety and luxury of restaurants and shops for entertainment. Green roofings, terraces, which will be located in high-rise buildings, will give a perception of natural environment.

In the 4th quarter of 2009 the 1^st construction stage (complex of residential buildings with objects for consumer services) will be started.  

Volume of investment   -  more than 1 bln USD.

Building duration - 5 years.

Total area of building - 47 hectares.

Total square of building- 660 000 sqm.

• 40% -  commercial real estate, administrative and trade spaces, objects for social uses, business-apartments.
